ITINERARY
Day 1 - Arrive
Delhi where you will be met and transferred to your hotel
Day 2 - The morning is free and in the afternoon there is a half
day sightseeing tour of old and new Delhi, which includes the Red Fort
and the imposing Jama Masjid Mosque.
Day 3 - A full mornings drive to Agra via Sikandra, the burial
place of Akbar the Great. Alternatively you can travel to Agra by rail
on the Shatabdi Express.
Day 4 - Sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, followed by a visit to
Agra Fort.
Day 5 - Drive to the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri, the ancient
capital of the Mughal Empire. The impressive buildings evoke images of
a way of life long vanished and the city is a highlight of any tour to
Agra. In the afternoon we continue to Jaipur.
Day 6 - In the morning we take a tour of the fabled pink city including
the Palace of the Winds and Amber Fort for an elephant ride to the hill
top Palace that dominates the town. Late afternoon drive 20km to Samode
to overnight at Samode Palace.
Day 7 - A leisurely start to enjoy thisl incredibly luxurious hotel
built in an old palace with some fantastically decorated rooms that are
worth a visit in their own right. There is time to take advantage of the
outdoor swimming pool or to explore the delightfully quiet Indian village
of Samode with several shops selling local craft products. Return to Delhi
by road and transfer to your hotel.
Day 8 - Transfer to the airport for departure
