The treks and prices    

We first visited Zagoria in northern Greece 15 years ago and to this day it has changed little. A wild landscape of deep limestone gorges, towering peaks, a wealth of bird-life and many species of flowers are all protected within the Pindos Mountains National Park. This is a side of Greece that few people see and it is superb walking country.

Greece might be a far cry from the Himalayas but we have transferred the concept of Nepal tea-house trekking to the little known region of Zagoria. All luggage is transferred so all you carry is a daysack large enough to contain extra clothing when staying overnight in the mountain refuge. A local guide is essential to explore this region as trails are not clearly marked and many of the best spots are known only to those in the know. Your guide will lead you to hidden swimming holes, viewpoints and provide a wealth of information on the flora and culture of the area.
